Seeing the Forest AND the Trees: Mastering the Craft of Genealogical Documentation

This hands-on workshop will cover the why, what, when, and how of documenting genealogies, lineages, reports and other written products. Participants will learn the five characteristics that make a source citation "complete and accurate" and how to apply a simplified format to citing most genealogical sources.

Dr. Thomas W. Jones is a genealogical researcher, writer, editor, and educator who co-edits the National Genealogical Society Quarterly and teaches problem solving and evidence evaluation in Boston University’s Genealogical Research Program, advanced methods at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, and genealogical writing at the Samford University Institute on Genealogy and Historical Research
