Welcome to all New England APG members!
The New England Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists was officially recognized in December 2007, nearly five years after recognition of its parent, the Greater Boston Chapter of APG.
Our members represent many different backgrounds and areas of expertise. In addition to historical and genealogical research, specialties include heir searches, house histories, lineage society applications, and identification and dating of old photographs. To learn more, see our Directory of Members, all of whom have subscribed to the APG Code of Ethics. For information on the many factors that should be considered when retaining a professional researcher, see APG’s brochure, Hiring a Professional.
You will not want to miss our next meeting on Saturday, 16 August, at the New Hampshire Historical Society in Concord. The business meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by our “Idea Exchange.” Carol Prescott McCoy, Ph.D., will lead the discussion on “Keys to Successful Presentations.” At 2:00 p.m., NHHS Reference Librarian Bill Copeley will lead us on a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility. Click here for details. It promises to be a great meeting! Guests are always welcome.
You must be a member of APG to be eligible for membership in the local chapter. You may apply for or renew your APG membership online at www.apgen.org. Chapter members enjoy several benefits:
· Educational meetings, with virtual participation
· Email updates with chapter news and member activities
· Networking opportunities
· Basic listing on chapter website
· Optional expanded listing in chapter brochure (printed and online); cost to be determined
If you would like to join our chapter, simply complete the membership form and return it to us. Chapter dues are $20 per year (January-December), but do not send money at this time. When we receive our tax identification number from the IRS, you will be notified to mail your dues.
